Moved!

I have moved!

The Oracle News

I’ve started my 2010  resolutions a tad bit early. I’ve never been one to follow or even make up resoutions. Hopefully, the next year will turn out better.

  1. Exercise
The girls (Siti and my Pasir Ris kaki Jules) and I have signed up for Kickboxing. I’ve always wanted to try it out. I googled some clips of it on Youtube and heck.. we’ve got alot of work cut out for us.
    Kickboxing 101 – 1
    Kickboxing 101 – 2
  2. Jogging
Apart from the kickboxing class, the aforementioned girls and I have started on jogging. Albeit, it’s only once, but that’s the spirit!
  3. Badminton
Jules and I had a smashing had very tiring time becoming “World Champions”. We ned more homegrown talents.
  4. Swimming

So I think the new resolutions revolve around being healthy. I need to be. I need to be!

As you all know, ever since I woke up on the wrong side of the bed a couple of weeks ago, the muffin-baking has not stopped.

Next up – cupcakes!

And my first recipe is: (cue the drum roll)

and this goes out to all the chocolate lovers out there

Devil’s Food Cupcake with Chocolate Buttercream

The picture itself is devilish. It’s calling out to me.

New Addition

26Oct09

There’s going to be a new edition in my somewhat mundane life.

It’s sleek, black and silver, thin and light.

It will bring me much joy and physically drag me out of boredom during train rides to and fro Pasir Ris and Raffles Place.

Wednesday. Wednesday. Wednesday.

Muffin Frenzy

18Oct09

I think I woke up on the wrong side of the bed this week. All I’ve been doing is baking. Yes – baking!

I took Food & Nutrition in secondary school but baking was never my forte. It was either rock solid or as coarse as sandpaper. I remember the last time I baked a cake was probably a few years ago using Betty Crocker’s cake mix. Even then, it was an unsuccessful attempt. The cake came out rock solid. It could probably be used as a weapon to knock someone out entirely. I, personally, blame the equipment. Mine is one of those dual use type machines – microwave plus convection. There’s a convection button on its own and there’s also the roast-bake-grill button. So which is it? Decisions decisions.

Whoa!

04Oct09

My last post was in November 2008?! Time flies pretty damn quick! It’s almost the end of 2009 already.

Nothing much has changed since then and now. In fact, I don’t bother anymore with what’s new or whats not. It’s just going to be a phase.

School’s officially over and done with. Responsibilities from left, right, top, bottom and centre awaits.

Reminisce

24Nov08

Oh.. the good old days.. Whatever happened to Converse sneakers, pagers, orange combs and 2.4km runs?

I sort of stumbled upon several old schoolmates from back in the day and it got me reminiscing the good old times.

  1. A dear old friend of mine took my shoe off as I had my knee on the chair (I doubt she remembers it)
  2. A catfight among two friends (girls really fight like cats, literally)
  3. Floorball tournaments which we aced
  4. Cheering on the Sapphire team (champions in 2000, woot! woot!)
  5. Competing in relays
  6. The not-so fantastic canteen food

Those were really enjoyable times. A lot of teenage crushes (in and on the way to school) and awesome company.  I saw pictures of the old school being pulled down and it felt like a part of me was being crushed as well. I spent the best years of my life there. I’ll do it again in a heartbeat. I look back at my school pictures and I see how much I’ve grown (but of course, I’m not gonna put those pictures up)

I’m psyched to see how the new building will turn out. It’s been a long time coming.
